| 7 Aug 2009 | Natalie Adams | Loading...wow - i love your style, and the colouring is so smooth! It must have taken ages to complete! Anitta Hiekkanen replies: "Thank you very much. Since the pics done in this style are only A5s the coloring doesn’t really take that long (this one approx 5 hours coffee etc. brakes included). The original sketching on the other hand can take days, ’cause I’m basically figuring it out as I go " | |
| 9 Aug 2009 | Samantha Martin | Loading...Oh wow, so much detail. Not only is she amazing, but you took the time to detail the books.. I love the heart on the one book, and the cherries on the other. Cute. Anitta Hiekkanen replies: "Thanks. The sketching took forever, but I’m happy with outcome. My favourite book detail is the sailor hat." | |
| 14 Aug 2009 | Iashia LeRai Bolton | Loading...ooooooohh fire and books, not a good combination, great pic. i love it =) Anitta Hiekkanen replies: "Yeah, the librarians who chased her out two seconds later didn’t think so either... " | |
| 18 Aug 2009 | Lyndsay MacDonald | Loading...Wouldn’t want her anywhere near my books! What do you use to colour? Looks like pencil crayons, but with much smoother/better results than I usually see. Anitta Hiekkanen replies: "I’m practically married to Caran d’Ache’s Artist-line, so that would be the Supracolor soft and Pablo pencils. I use the supracolors to do the initial shading and toning (because they are water-soluble) to get a nice smooth base to work the permanent pablos over it. This was probably more then you really asked for, but you were the first one ever to ask " | |
| 8 Sep 2009 | Shanny Rogans | Loading...It feels a bit steampunk-ish, does it not? ^^ Anitta Hiekkanen replies: "Hmm.. now that you mentioned it, it kinda does " | |
| 12 Oct 2009 | Jonas Kupe | Loading...i like the style of the window,i like her outfit (a lot) , and i like the skull in bookshelf thought its a bit too big ^^ Anitta Hiekkanen replies: "Her top is one of my favourite outfits, though a bit revealing And that skull... I knew it was way off proportion, I just hoped no one would notice " | |
| 28 Oct 2009 | Stephanie S. K. Marbach | Loading...oh my, the bookshelf looks amazing!!! i feel like the character in the front doesn’t fit in smoothly with the bookshelf because the borders of the character are so strongly outlined and dark and the bookshelf seems so soft, if you know what i mean? but that’s my personal view Anitta Hiekkanen replies: "Using a thicker outline on the foreground is a technique used in some comics to separate the fg from bg, bringing the focus to the character(s). Though I do admit it would have been wiser to use a .2 instead the .3. Oh well, what’s done is done " | |
| 12 Nov 2009 | Panu Hakkarainen | Loading...Her pose is quite "classical" for elemental magic users but that does not reduce the fact that this is well done piece. I especially like the background (that skull), the flame and those lilttle details in her clothes. Hmmm, ever thought of making comics? Anitta Hiekkanen replies: "Thought about making comics years ago, but then realized I can’t draw anyone twice looking the same That’s the main reason my designs are different from pic to pic " | |
